Faces of Judaism: Race, Ethnicity and How Judaism Connects Us

Date:
Thursday, March 23, 2023
Time:
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location:
Online

There was a time when the common perception of a Jewish person was something out of Fiddler on the Roof. The reality, of course, is that Jewish people reflect a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds, just as there is a variety of Jewish practices in the US and around the world. Here is an outstanding opportunity to hear from two extraordinary, ethnically diverse Jewish women: Michelle Rojas-Tal, Hadassah's Zionist Scholar in Residence and a Jewish Latina, and Mahrinah Shije, Tewa. Listen in as they talk one-on-one about their experiences as Jewish women of certain ethnic identities, the identity of Jewish women as a whole today, core universal Jewish values that unite us, and the importance of identity building. Think fun, candid talk along the lines of "Between Two Ferns" and "Watch What Happens Live" but featuring two young women you won't necessarily hear from on "The View" (at least not yet).
